Training Team
Our Training Team members are experts in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Teacher-Child Interaction Training (TCIT). The team consists of licensed therapists and doctoral-level graduate students who are recognized content leaders in the field.
Chris Campbell, Ph.D.
Chris Campbell, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor at East Central University where he recently established PCIT and TCIT Research Labs.
Dr. Campbell received his doctorate from the APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology Training Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (recently recognized as the “Outstanding Training Program” in 2013 by the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies).
After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Dr. Campbell completed an APA-accredited internship and 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Oklahoma. During this time period, Dr. Campbell started to conduct trainings with Dr. Beverly Funderburk (Vice President of PCIT International and co-author of the PCIT International Protocol).
Prior to accepting his faculty position at East Central University, Dr. Campbell completed a 3-year post-doctoral fellowship through the National Institute of Health’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. The fellowship allowed Dr. Campbell to continue to conduct services and research on his Teacher-Child Interaction Training Program.
PCIT Experience
Since 2011, Dr. Campbell has helped conduct over 40 PCIT trainings for over 200 trainees with Drs. Beverly Funderburk, Robin Gurwitch, and Melanie Nelson. While many of Dr. Campbell’s current trainings have been within Oklahoma, he has also helped conduct on-site trainings at agencies in 6 other states:
- Minnesota
- Missouri
- Nebraska
- North Carolina
- Oregon
- Pennsylvania
TCIT Experience
Dr. Campbell initially developed his Teacher-Child Interaction Training Program with colleagues at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2008.
Dr. Campbell has been awarded two federal research grants to conduct his work with TCIT, and he has a decade of TCIT experience.
- His first grant was awarded by U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Administration for Children & Families in 2010.
- In 2013, Dr. Campbell was awarded a 3-year post-doctoral fellowship by the National Institute of Health’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
Since 2008, Dr. Campbell has delivered TCIT services to numerous preschool programs, primarily Head Start Programs. However, he recently conducted TCIT with a Fortune 100 Company’s Preschool Program.
In 2017, Dr. Campbell began training professionals to become TCIT Coaches. More information on TCIT Training.
Danielle Campbell, M.S.
Danielle Campbell, M.S., is currently completing her Doctoral Degree in School Psychology at Oklahoma State University.
Danielle completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Oklahoma in 2012. Afterwards, Danielle was employed at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where she worked closely with Dr. Beverly Funderburk (Vice President of PCIT International, and co-author of the PCIT International Protocol) as the PCIT Training Coordinator for 3 years.
PCIT Experience
Since 2013, Danielle has coordinated over 40 PCIT trainings for over 200 trainees. Additionally, Danielle helped coordinate one of the first federally-funded PCIT Learning Collaboratives for 24 clinicians and senior leaders from around the United States. She has also coordinated numerous off-site trainings at several agencies across the country.
TCIT Experience
Prior to becoming the PCIT Training Coordinator, Danielle was a member of the TCIT Research Lab. She has conducted research on over 200 children and 24 teachers at several Head Start Centers. Danielle has over 15 professional presentations on TCIT that have been conducted at numerous national conferences. Additionally, she is a co-author of two TCIT professional manuals: (1) Behavioral Observations of Preschoolers System (BOPS) and (2) the Student-Teacher Interaction Coding System (STICS).

When large PCIT trainings are scheduled within Oklahoma, Dr. Campbell will be joined by one (or more) PCIT Master Trainers. One (or more) PCIT Master Trainers will also join Dr. Campbell for trainings that are offered outside of Oklahoma.
